In search of a new home for humanity, the astronaut lands on a remote planet. She quickly realizes that she is not alone. While unable to catch up with a creature that she is followinig, the shadow that follows her is closing in menacingly. In a world where forests turn into meadows in seconds, where mountains grow in minutes and entire cities disappear on the horizon, she finally meets strange beings and asks for asylum for the humanity that has made its own home planet uninhabitable. The astronaut initially has no convincing arguments to persuade the beings, who live simultaneously in all times and thus effectively exploit the planet’s lifespan over millions of years, to take in the wasteful humans. An act of selflessness finally convinces them that there is still good to be found in humans that they themselves had long thought lost.
